Pinned some code from the or1k code base and openocd is running and communicating with the virtual tag I think.
Trying some test commands with it and they seem to make it though, but backwards. Trying to switch jtag shift register dir... foft

Step(i) completed:
Select JTAG chain connected to USB-Blaster [1-1].
Select device: @1: 5CE(BA4|FA4) (0x02B050DD).
(8 bits instruction, 32 bits address, 32 bits data, write 1 bit, size 2 bits)
Write 4 times into my 4 deep fifo...... foft

I propose using the same bit of Sophia for hi-res mode colour too:
bit4 PMCTL controls additional color in hi-res mode.

0 - 1 color, 2 luminances (default)
1 - 2 colors foft

Actually I agree it would be cool.
So, if I fix the hardware, any hands up for an E: driver? So we can run existing software in 80 col mode with 4.5 colours?
